Olivier Lapidus is set to replace Bouchra Jarrar as Artistic Director at Lanvin after Jarrar completed just two collections for the house. Olivier has previously held the role of Artistic Director at Balmain Homme during the mid 80’s as well as a decade long tenure at his fathers design house Maison Lapidus. He also designs furniture, objects, glassware and lighting for lifestyle brands. The designer is known for his innovative approach to his designs, his own house Creation Olivier Lapidus is described as an e-couture house due to it being predominantly based on the web. “When we began discussions, Lanvin was interested by my Internet approach,” said Lapidus. “New technologies can be very pertinent for the oldest couture house in France. Clearly there is something innovative to tap there in terms of positioning and communications.”. His first collection will be presented along side the spring / summer 18 shows in Paris.
